Noor Nugali

Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Arab News
Deputy editor-in-chief at Arab News, the Middle East's leading English-language daily, since January 2024. Nugali has successfully covered foreign policy and the diplomatic community and has obtained several high-level interviews and exclusives for Arab News. She has managed the successful coverage of many high-level summits in Saudi Arabia, as well as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's international tours. At Arab News, she has handled several major editorial projects. Most notably, Nugali was part of the launch team of Arab News en Francais, the digital French edition of the newspaper that was successfully launched in July 2020. That year, she was a lead researcher and interviewer for two major Arab News Deep Dives: "Prince in space," which marked the 35th anniversary of Prince Sultan bin Salman being the first Arab astronaut to go to space, and "Juhayman: 40 years on," which retold the story of the seizure by extremists of the Holy Mosque in Makkah in 1979. Given her success in leading the research of both Deep Dives, Nugali led the research and management of the Saudi National Day Deep Dive "Diriyah," which won many accolades, including at the 23rd European Newspaper Award, the Indigo Design Awards and the INMA Global Media Awards. Nugali has also covered, moderated and participated as a panelist at several major events and forums in the Kingdom and abroad, including moderating two panels: "G20: To reconnect the world" with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir and UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al- Hashimy, as well as "Nordic perspective: Women's empowerment." In Dubai, she participated as a speaker at the Arab Women Forum in the session "Saudi women pioneers: Change from within," and moderated the session "Storytellers from the war front." This year, the Indian Embassy invited Nugali as a guest speaker for International Women's Day to talk about the progressive changes taking place in the Kingdom, the vast opportunities Saudi women now have, and Arab News' breakthrough coverage. Her most notable interviewees include US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, and recently Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. Nugali joined Arab News in October 2017. Prior to that, she worked for three years at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has also been a reporter and freelance feature writer for the Saudi Gazette and The National, a UAE-based English daily.
