Omar Degan

Principal
DO Architecture Group

Omar Degan is an architect, academic, and the founder and Creative Director of the Pan-African Biennale (PAB). His work explores architecture’s role in fragile contexts, focusing on cultural identity, resilience, and decolonization across the African continent. Through the Biennale, Degan seeks to reposition Africa at the center of global discourse - creating a space made by Africans for Africans - and to redefine architecture as a tool for cultural empowerment rather than an imported model. His practice bridges design, research, and activism, challenging conventional narratives and advocating for new models of social and environmental transformation.
