Mashrur Hossain Shurid
I’m Mashrur, a Bangladeshi engineer turned agritech entrepreneur and co-founder of Aunkur, an AI-powered farm analytics platform helping smallholder farmers make data-driven decisions through soil and weather intelligence.I am a Westerwelle Fellow and UN Land Ambassador in Bangladesh, advocating for digital land restoration, climate resilience, and modern agricultural extension across emerging economies. Prior to entrepreneurship, I served in government and founded two startups—one of which grew into a full-fledged operating company—gaining experience in building scalable, impact-driven systems.I come from a farming family that was forced to abandon its ancestral livelihood after losing everything in a devastating cyclone. That personal history drives my mission to strengthen climate resilience for small farmers using locally built, renewable energy-powered AIoT technologies. My vision is to build one of the largest agricultural data banks in the Global South and create a connected ecosystem where farmers, agribusinesses, and institutions collaborate through equitable access to actionable information. I believe small farmers can produce more with less—and that making climate action profitable at the grassroots level is essential to securing the future of global food systems.
