Ahmad AbuSalah
Prof. Ahmad M. AbuSalah is the Founding Director of the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC), Saudi Arabia. He is also an Affiliate Professor at Alfaisal University and the University of Minnesota. His work focuses on the responsible adoption of AI, informatics, and digital technologies in healthcare. He leads KFSHRC’s Applied AI ecosystem, with a focus on accelerating need-driven, value-oriented AI applications to enhance care delivery, operational efficiency, and user experience. Previously, he was a Professor and Director of the Translational Informatics Core at the University of Minnesota. He also managed the Data Solutions Team at UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 5 company, and served as the Chief Informaticist at the U.S. National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education. Prof. AbuSalah holds an Executive Certificate in Corporate Innovation Strategies from MIT, a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Minnesota, dual master’s degrees in Computer Science from Purdue University and the University of Illinois, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Information Systems from Jordan University of Science and Technology and Philadelphia University.
