As a board director, executive coach/advisor, author/podcaster, and investor, my work centers on helping leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and organizations make smarter decisions, scale their impact, and tell compelling stories that drive success. As an executive coach, I bring over 25 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, and governance, helping high-performance leaders scale their businesses, navigate complexity, and master executive presence. My coaching approach blends strategic advisory with hands-on leadership insights drawn from my work in investment management, boardrooms, and entrepreneurship.I am an active board director and investor, serving as a Board Director & Audit Committee Member at ibex (NASDAQ: IBEX) and TRG Pakistan (PSX: TRG), and as an Investment Committee Member at Salkantay Ventures, a leading Latin American venture capital firm.I coined the term FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and its lesser-known twin, FOBO (Fear of a Better Option), in a 2004 article at Harvard Business School. Since then, FOMO has entered the dictionary and FOBO was the subject of my TED Talk, “How to Make Faster Decisions” (2M+ views). My work on decision-making and leadership has been featured in The New York Times, The Financial Times, Le Monde, El País, Bloomberg, BBC, CNN, and The Atlantic.Over the last decade, I have built a career at the intersection of leadership, influence, and business strategy. I am the author of The 10% Entrepreneur and Fear of Missing Out: Practical Decision-Making in a World of Overwhelming Choice, and the creator and host of FOMO Sapiens, a widely followed podcast that explores how top executives, investors, and thought leaders navigate uncertainty, make better decisions, and scale their businesses. In 2023-24, I was the co-creator and brand ambassador for MercadoLibre’s award-winning “Fear of Missing Audience” campaign, a tri-lingual marketing initiative for one of Latin America’s leading technology firms. I also appear in the Tribeca Film Festival-premiered crypto documentary, “This is Not Financial Advice.”With a passion for harnessing the power of leadership and communication to drive impact, I serve on the Regional Council of the Leadership Now Project and the boards of Bridge USA, a campus-based youth movement fighting political division through dialogue, and the Planet Word Museum in Washington, DC.A graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Business School, I have visited more than 115 countries and am fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
