Rawan Al Butairi

Rawan Albutairi is CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation, leading its strategic direction to position Saudi Arabia as a global esports hub under the National Gaming and Esports Strategy. She drives growth, forges partnerships with international governing bodies, and ensures successful delivery of tournaments advancing the Kingdom's global esports standing. Rawan joined the Saudi Esports Federation in February 2023, where she most recently served as Chief of Partnerships and Corporate Affairs before her appointment as CEO, she was Senior Advisor and Program Manager at the Communications & Technology Commission in Riyadh for two years, after a Saudi Aramco secondment to the Ministry of Finance (2019–2021), where she was one of only two professionals selected from Aramco's 60,000+ employees to support the Saudi G20 Presidency. She worked at Saudi Aramco from 2013–2019 as a Team Lead in Planning, Performance Management & Capital Division, and earlier spent three years at Saudi Hollandi Bank as a Relationship Manager in Institutional Banking. Rawan was selected for the first cohort of the Misk Leaders 2030 Program, is a 2015 member of the Mosaic leadership program founded by HRH Prince of Wales, and co-founded entrepreneurial platform MUBADARA GCC. A Global Shaper since 2013, she was the first Global Shaper and Curator of the Al Khobar hub. A Saudi national, she is a native Arabic speaker, fluent in English, and speaks functional Spanish. Rawan holds an MBA from IESE Business School (2018) and a B.S. in Finance with Honors from the University of Maine (2010).
