Walid Al-Naeem was appointed the Vice President and Chief Engineer effective March 1st, 2024.Al-Naeem joined Saudi Aramco in September 1990, before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa, USA and a Master’s degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.Al-Naeem has held a number of leadership positions including Vice President of Environmental Protection, Vice President of Facilities Planning, Director of the Energy Transition Engineering Department, Manager of Riyadh Refinery Engineering, as well as several leadership roles within Project Management.He is currently leading several corporate boards and committees, including Saudi Aramco’s Board of Engineers, the Specialist Development Program and The Energy Management Committee. He also serves as a Board Member of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC), which plays a key role in advancing energy efficiency and optimizing energy consumption across the Kingdom as well as Carbon Capture & Storage Solutions committee. Al-Naeem is also the chairman of the Board for Plant Digital JV, a 2023 joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Honeywell. In addition, he servs as chairman of the Board of ITQAN, the Inspection Technology and Quality Assurance National Institute. He completed various leadership programs including executive programs at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the Graduate Business School of Stanford University.
