Javier Sobrino
Javier is an expert in strategy, innovation, and financing in the sports industry. Hecollaborates with clubs, companies, and investment funds as strategic advisor for theboard of directors of different entities such as, among others, FIFA, Liga F, Real BetisBalompié or Club Deportivo Toluca.He was managing Partner of Aser Ventures, specialized investment fund in the sportindustry. Previously he was Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer at FC Barcelona wherehe developed the last two Corporate Strategic Plans (2015-2021 & 2021-2026). He setup the Clubs Innovation activities, which included the launch and development of theBarça Innovation Hub project, leading innovation and corporate venturing initiative inthe sports industry. He also was in charge of Barça Corporate project, and he acted asCRO.Javier is also Professor of Strategic Management & Innovation in the sports industry invarious Universities and business schools. He is the General Secretary of PlanetaFormación y Universidades Advisory Board and he has written different books, including“Sport, an economic sector” and “Sports Diplomacy”. He has also been involved inprojects related to sport policies implementation and the transversal impact of sport.He developed his PhD in football clubs management and he has an MBA from INSEADand a Law and Business Degree at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid.
