Faisal Saeed

Faisal Saeed is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Birmingham City University. He is leading the MSc Artificial Intelligence course, Research Summer School and AI and Data Analytics Lab at the Department. Previously, he worked as an Associate Professor at the Information Systems Department, Taibah University, KSA (2017-2021), and as a Senior Lecturer at the Information Systems Department, Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia (2014-2017). He received his BSc in Computers (Information Technology) from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2005, followed by a MSc in Information Technology Management and a PhD in Computer Science from UTM, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Faisals research interests include data science, artificial intelligence, information retrieval, and health informatics. He has an outstanding publication record in prestigious high-impact factor journals and presented papers at several international conferences. Moreover, Faisal has secured 22 research funds from various funders in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. His contributions have been recognized with several research awards, including the Researcher of the Year (BCU), Research Staff Award (BCU), Best Paper Awards from three international conferences, Chancellor Award (UTM), and Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal awards from innovation exhibitions.
