Dr. Saleh Al Marshed
Dr. Saleh AlMarshed leads the Next Generation Connectivity and Wireless Sensors Institute at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Riyadh, directing national research programmes in advanced wireless communications, 5G and 6G systems, and sensor technologies. He has spent the bulk of his career at KACST, joining as a communication systems engineer and progressing through programme management and a research assistant professorship before taking on institute leadership. He holds a bachelor's degree from King Saud University, a master's from the University of Central Florida, and a doctorate from the University of Surrey, where he was affiliated with the Surrey Space Centre. His doctoral research focused on machine learning for ultra-reliable low-latency communication, including deep learning-based early HARQ feedback prediction for latency minimisation. He speaks regularly on 6G as the enabling layer for the AI economy.
