Dr. Hani Saad Alhakami

Dr. Hani Saad Alhakami is a distinguished Saudi expert in satellite communications, space systems and defence technologies, with more than 25 years of experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense. He served until recently as Director of the Satellite Department at the Ministry of Defense's Communications and Information Technology Authority, where he led the strategic development of national satellite communications, reconnaissance and early warning capabilities.Throughout his career, Dr. Alhakami has played a leading role in some of Saudi Arabia's most significant sovereign space programmes, including the SaudiGeoSat-1 (SGS-1) programme and the Integrated Military Satellites System (IMSS). He has also directed strategic studies related to C4I systems and future sovereign space capabilities for the Kingdom.Holding a PhD in Electrical Engineering and an MSc in Mobile and Satellite Communications Engineering from the University of Surrey (UK), Dr. Alhakami combines deep technical expertise with extensive executive leadership. He regularly represents Saudi Arabia in regional and international forums on satellite communications, defence technologies and space systems, and is widely recognised for his contribution to advancing the Kingdom's sovereign space and secure communications capabilities.
