Asrar Damdam is a scientist and entrepreneur with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from KAUST. She is the founder and CEO of Uvera, a cleantech startup combating food waste using its chemical-free shelf-life extension technology that extends the shelf-life of perishable foods by an average of 97% in seconds. Her groundbreaking work has earned her the L’Oréal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science, CES Innovation Award, and recognition on Forbes 30 Under 30, Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business, Bloomberg New Economy Catalysts, and MIT Innovators Under 35. Asrar is driven by a mission to cut down food waste by 50% by the year 2030 through scalable and sustainable innovation.
