Albert Feytons

Albert Feytons is the Science & Technology Counsellor for the Middle East and APAC region at Flanders Investment & Trade (part of the Belgian Embassy). In this role he helps bridging Flanders’ tech ecosystem with partners, customers, and investors across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. A builder at heart, Albert has been working on applied AI since 2012, when he started designing and implementing AI systems for port operations and logistics. Over the years, he has focused on turning complex, high-stakes operations into products that teams actually adopt, blending data/AI, automation, and product strategy. He also spent 12 years in the software industry serving the broadcast and media sector, where operational constraints, rights, timing, and monetization pressures make “AI in theory” very different from “AI in production.”Within the different organisation Albert has worked, he has taken up the lead AI role to ensure the company is actively thinking about the impact of AI and how to adopt it for its own operations, effectively creating an AI strategy.
