Honourable Dr. Leonard Uguru

Leonard Chukwuma Uguru was born in Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He has the following degrees: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc); Masters of Science (M.Sc); and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), all in Accountancy. He was a lecturer in the Department of Accountancy, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria since 2007 to February 18, 2018, when he became the University Bursar. In June, 2023, Leonard was appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He has attended academic conferences nationally and internationally; and has published over 72 scholarly articles in high ranking/indexed journals within and outside the country. He has to his credit four (4) recognised and relevant textbooks in Auditing, Statistics, and Cost/Management Accounting; and many chapters in academic books. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Certified Institute of Cost Accountants of Nigeria (CICAN), and fellow of National Institute of Industrial Administrators (NIIA), International Research and Development Institute (IRDI), etc. He is the Managing Partner – Harmattan Consultants (a management consultancy firm) and the Principal Partner - Excellent Professional Tutors (a leading ICAN tuition house in Ebonyi State).
