Alexa Jago is a distinguished British film producer, film financier, actor, and philanthropist with extensive experience in US and UK film, television, and theatre. Beginning her career as an actor in London, she trained at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts. Over the years, Alexa has showcased her versatility by participating in over 18 feature films and more than 50 theatre plays, including works by Shakespeare, Ibsen, and musicals, marking her initiation in Repertory theatre in the UK.
As a film producer, Alexa earned acclaim for her executive production of the award-winning British feature film "Kilo Two Bravo," also known as "Kajaki: The True Story." The film received prestigious accolades, including a BAFTA and a BIFA Award for Best Producer of the Year. Alexa's involvement in the entertainment industry extends beyond acting and production; she has successfully structured a $250 million+ US Studio slate deal through Genesis Media Capital, focusing on US Studio film franchises. This initiative exemplifies her ability to leverage her connections in both Hollywood and London.
In addition to her significant contributions to the film industry, Alexa is a committed philanthropist. She co-founded "Caring for Courage" for the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and actively participated in fundraising for the SMILE Appeal for the Royal Academy of Gynecologists & Obstetricians.
Recognizing her dedication and expertise, Alexa has been elected to various prestigious positions within BAFTA. She currently serves on the Board of BAFTA North America, having been honored with the membership's vote. Her involvement also extends to the BAFTA UK Film Committee, where she was elected this year, and her prior role as co-chair of the BAFTA LA Film Committee. Alexa's commitment to the organization is rooted in her desire to represent the needs of every member and promote cohesion and excellence in the film industry. She also plays a crucial role in the BAFTA AMPAS Selection committee and is co-Chair of the Oscar and BAFTA qualifying Hollyshorts Film Festival.
Notably, Alexa is engaged in the development of a diverse and inclusive slate of independent films including an animated feature film, a TV Series.
